1.referring to or meaning anything and everything except “no” 2. what to say when at a loss 3. a statement of understanding or agreement eg. “alright”, “yes”, “if you say so”, “OK”, “you’re the captain”, “why not”, etc. 4. congratulations on; a. drinking that pint so quickly, b. that display of champagne rugby, c.sending that porn round the mailing list, d. singinf so beautifully, e. good banter. 5. “good work out, let’s hit the showers”. 6. Amen.

Socialising Guidelines:

Getting involved in the weekly socials with the Rugby Club will lead to some of your best nights at university. Make the effort to turn up and keep the tradition of UKC Rugby going strong!!

These are just a few of the basics, however all rules are just guidelines subject to change and can be made on the spot according to whoever is hosting the drinking circle, normally the social secretary or chairman

  • The first rule is to obey any rule/instruction laid out to you by the chairman, a captain or a committee member
  • The word ‘drink’ is banned, and must be substituted with consume or beverage.
  • No pointing. The lowly digit is to be replaced with the elbow and other such appendages.
  • There shall be a thumb master/jive master/pose master/grenade master allocated by a member of the committee at the beginning of each drinking circle.
  • Snakebite is known as hockey juice – it is a sin to purchase/consume the aforementioned beverage unless instructed to do so by a captain or committee member.
  • Tommy 2p – it is your responsibility to save him as quickly as possible if you find him dropped in your pint. There is only one Tommy – No imitations.
  • Talking to the enemy (Girls or Kevball players), whilst on drinking duty is the most heinous of crimes and a punishable offence.
  • Club colours will be announced each week. You will discover what this means at a later date. Make the effort or you will be made an example of.
  • Do not be late! Turning up late to a social event is punishable by the swift consumption of a beverage of the chairman or social secretary’s choice.
